Does anyone give credit toward "prescription drug management" for medications or vaccines given while at the MD office. For instance, TDAP when a person cuts their finger. Toradol IM when a person is in a lot of pain they may give them a shot while they are there. I had an auditor tell me that was correct, but I want to double check before CEMC exam. Can't find anything specific.

Injections aren't tests so they can't count in table B.

thanks for input.

I do not give credit for drugs administered in the office. If the patient is sent home with a prescription of the medication then you can give credit. Also, if the provider adjusts the dosage of a current medication you can give credit for this as well. Although it is not a new medication, it is a management of the drug. Hope this helps!
