Physician billing admit 2/21/14 15:00 hrs with a discharge 2/22/14 7:00 hrs. Would I bill 99234-6 or 99221-223 and 99238/9? Does the same day admit discharge rule pertain to the date or 24 hrs range? If so where can I find info on CMS website or other documentation supporting 24 hour rule?
