Wiki saucerization biopsy help

One of our doctors notes they did a "saucerization" biopsy. The best I could tell is that is consididered a "deep shave" biopsy. She said she read an article that it is considerded an excisional biospy. Can anyone help me??
 
Saucerization Biopsies

After reading a few articles on saucerization biopsies, these only shave the epidermal layer of pigmented layers (keratosis, superficial melanomas, etc.), whereas, the excisional biopsy goes into the subcutaneous tissue for a deeper excision of lesions. Saucerization biopsies do not require suture closure (closes by secondary intention), but the excisional biopsy typically requires suture closure.
