Scanning of hospital charge sheets

Hello,

I am having my hospital charge sheets scanned from the last three years.

I am wondering if it will be ok to destroy the sheets once scanned.

I have been told 7 years to keep medical records. These sheets have the patient's name, date of birth, date of service, medical record number and all the diagnoses that has been assessed.

Will it be okay to send the paper sheets to destruction once scanned?
