We are a small neurology office in WV that is "going paperless". I am trying to find "in writing" documention relating to shredding medical financial documention (EOB's, superbills...) AFTER we have scanned and saved them both on our network AND on a backup copy. Can anyone help??? :confused::eek:
 
What I found out while researching this is first find out what your state law is. Then look at each of your payor contracts. Sometimes my payor contract was longer that what the state law was and since it is a contract we were advise to go by that. But don't go under what the state law is even if the payor contract states.
