Hello,
Can a company charge a self pay rate for the exam and then bill their insurance for any need blood work done on the same day?
 
Not quite sure what you are talking about. If a person goes for a Physical and blood work is draw and the pt has insurance and the dr. take the ins. than the physical and the blood work should be covered as long as the lab also par with pt ins.
 
I guess thats what I am trying to figure out.
Let me re-ask it.
Patient comes in for a self pay school physical we collect payment for that office visit. But the patient also had Titers drawn, UA done.
Can the office visit be self pay while the others are being billed to the insurance comapnay?
Is that fraud or abuse?
Are there any guidelines or instruction I can provide?
