Scopes with Risk falls under High complexity decision making, however, the doc must also meet criteria in either complexity of data or number of diag to qualify for a complete High MDM. Here's where my question comes in. General Surgeon sees a new patient for say diarrhea, he documents that patient has HTN, Diabetes, and Sleep APNEA-however he is not treating these conditions. Do the chronic conditions "count" towards the number of diganosis/managment options when calculating the MDM?

Not evaluating / treating

In my opinion, if the physician is not evaluating/treating the condition I'd say no, it doesn't count towards his Problem points.
