Can anyone tell me where to find information regarding not being able to charge an e/m service prior to a screening colonoscopy.
ex: patient has no GI problems but may have hypertension which is not something that we monitor and patient was referred to us for a screening colonoscopy and that is what is scheduled.
Also is it correct that if a patient comes for a screening colon and we have to take them off their blood thinner that an e/m may be billed at the time of consult for the screening colon?
