I am being told by my colleagues that a screening mammogram MUST always have the dx code V76.12 for both the Reason for Visit as well as the Final Diagnosis. Is this true for all screening mammograms. I thought if something was found such as a density or calcification that that should be the final diagnosis and not the screening V76.12. Please clarify this for me.
Thanks
Ramona:)
