I need to make sure we can use V43.82 as a breast implant code when a patient comes in for a diagnostic screening mammogram? Or is there another code more applicable? The V51.0 would not work as they are not coming in for an encounter for reconstruction nor V52.4 which involves fitting/adjustment, just for a screening.
If anyone has input, I would greatly appreciate it.Thanks
 
more clarification

The facility I work at considers any patient with breast implants as a diagnostic exam and they believe we cannot use V76.12 when we do a diagnostic mammogram that is why they have been using the V15.89 is what I have been told. The doctors will not do a screening exam on breast implants.

Any input?
