While you can purchase generic Semaglutide (Brand names of Ozempic, Wegovy and Rybelsus) at local pharmacies or online, the FDA recommends obtaining it only with a prescription from a licensed medical professional. Can I count as medication management due to FDA recommendation or still NO because you CAN get Semaglutide without an Rx?
 
To my knowledge, in the US, you can only legally obtain semaglutide from a pharmacy with a prescription. I do not think I could walk into CVS or Walgreens and purchase it without a prescription. Many meds CAN be purchased online from outside the US without a prescription.
I look at it like this - I COULD get something someone claims is oxycodone without a prescription. But that doesn't mean oxycodone is not a prescription.
 
same with omeprazole- my wife's rheumatologist writes her a prescription for it & manages that even though it is available otc- i would consider that as part of the tx plan managed by the provider
