Hello. I am looking for further guidance on Sensipar and ESRD. I have read that it is billed with the bill type 721 and is paid as part of the composite rate (i.e., no separate payment). But, then I read that it is still paid separate from the composite. I contacted Amgen and asked how this should be billed and they said that we, as a facility can make the choice to bill it as part of the services of the facility or have the patient fill it as part of their Part D plan. The problem I see with that is that not all patients have Medicare and this could cause issues.
So, my question is - is this payable separate from the composite rate?
Thank you!!!
