Hello All, (icd 10 code help)

Pt has sepsis due to E. Coli, (A41.51 sepsis due to E. Coli)
no organ dysfunction/or wording of severe sepsis documented.

Is this the only code that would be listed? since it specifically states it is sepsis with the organism?

I have read the guidelines and I am still a little confused. What I am understanding is that the only time more than one code would be needed is if pt had septic shock/severe sepsis.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I guess the question is where did the Ecoli come from from, as there is a code first instruction.

I see the code first note, the pt had non of the examples listed.
The documentation states "likely 2/2 UTI".
