Can you bill a hand x-ray and finger x-ray together? I have been told different answers and would like to verify. From the research that I have found you can bill them together with a modifier 59 on the finger x-ray. I have also found that you can not bill modifier 59 to Medicare on the 73140, but what about other insurance companies? Please help:confused:

Hi Sharon......I looked back into some of my hand/finger patients and I haven't billed both before at the same time but if its just a certain insurance you need to know for just call
your provider rep and she will tell you how to bill it. Wish I could help you more!
