Does anyone out there charge for a shaver blade? We were told to use L8699 (prosthetic implant, not otherwise specified), but this is a bone excision device. I wanted to use C1819 (surgical tissue localization and excision device), but as you see, it doesn't specifiy bone. Help!!!

I bill items like this to all of our commercial payers and since it's not actually a true implant I'm instructed to use 99070 for high cost supplies with rev. code 279. For true implants I would use L8699 with rev. code 278 unless there's a more specific HCPCS code. If you bill for these items it's better to drop to paper w/ the invoices attached.

Hope this helps!
