I would like to settle a debate with my physician:

When OP note reads: "Using Image Guidance balloon system, a sphenoidotomy was preformed"

Physician wants to code as 31287, as he feels this does not specify what instrument he uses.
I believe it should be 31297, because there is a specific code stating balloon dilation.

Any suggestions were I can show him this in writing, such as a coding article. I have showed him the CPT descriptions.
