Our social workers currently bill incident-to the physicians but the rules previous to COVID stated the physicians had to be in the building and available in order to be the billing provider. The question is….how does the change in telehealth affect this once the PHE is over? Since telehealth is now allowed for mental health services (outside of the Public Health Emergency) will our social workers be able to bill for telehealth if they are not in the building with a physician?
