I have a report for soft tissue back. the spinal contents were not examined, so 76800 is ruled out. I have seen a few other posts on this subject but wondered if there was any new input out there. i don't agree with using the 76705. I don't believe the description fits, especially since this better describes the internal organs.

I am leaning towards the unlisted ultrasound, 76999, accompanied by report.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Ultrasound soft tissue back

I have been informed previously on this forum that according to CSI Navigator for Radiology, to use cpt 76705 for ultrasound soft tissue lower back and cpt 76604-52 for ultrasound soft tissue upper back. This kind person also verified it in the 2009 CSI Navigator for Diagnositc Radiology.
