If the surgeon performs a posterolateral fusion from T1-T7, but from T3-T5 they place a cage, can you code for the combined posterior technique with the posterior interbody technique fusion in the area of the cage as well as the code for the cage? If so, what code would be used? The combined code is for lumbar only (22633).
