Medicare is denying all my xray dx's, even though they are payable dx's, saying (CO-50) "not deemed a medical necessity" yet I have some paid with the same dx's. Is anyone having this problem or do you know something I may have missed???

May i know which Dx and CPT code which are denied by Medicare?

spine related conditions like spondylosis, radiculopathy, Spondylolisthesis, Scoliosis of specific vertebrae(Lumbar, cervical, thoracic, sacral) are covered by Medicare. based on X-ray site we can code appropriate site dx code for getting payment. for example, if X-ray lumbar spine taken and the most coverable dx are M47.816, M41.86, M47.26 etc which are all related to Lumbar site. I hope it helps
