Wiki Split Antepartum Care

I have a couple of OB patients that transferred to our practice late in their pregnancy. We did the delivery and post partum care, so will bill that as 59410. With the antepartum care, can it be billed as a 59425 or 59426 even with another provider billing that same code? All articles and threads regarding this particular topic are from past years and could not see anything more recent.

Yes, you can bill a 59425/59426 and the previous provider will also bill the appropriate code for their portion.

I'll just add that Meg is right that this is the correct way to code. But if you also do the claim followup portion of revenue cycle, don't be surprised if you need to submit additional documentation and/or an appeal.
