There are differing opinions on whether or not you can do split/shared with consults now since you crosswalk them to an E/M and ultimately that is what you are billing to Medicare. But on the other hand the intent of the visit was a consult which Medicare rules state cannot be split/shared. Does anyone have any credible guidance on this situation? This is for OPT and INPT care not in an office setting.
