Wiki Splitting Consult Visit

Latey, our doctor due to a time constraint has been briefly seeing a pt on one day and completing and dictating his consultation report on the next day. He does also see the patient on the next day for a more comprehensive assessment. He wants to bill for a visit on the first date and a consult on the next date. My feeling is that he should bill only for the consultation when it is completed on the following day. I feel that it would send out a red flag to bill a visit prior to the date of the consultation, and that he should only bill for the consultation on the date that he completes his entire assessment.

What do you think?

Thanks,

Dee
