When your providers sign up with Medicare how long does it usually take to get their numbers so we can bill?

Your MAC should be telling you how long they are taking to process applications. If you are billing Trailblazers you can go to
http://www.trailblazerhealth.com/Provider Enrollment/Default.aspx?DomainID=1
And put in your tracking number and it will tell you where it is in the process. The latest bulletin said they were at 25 days for PECOS apps and 67 days for new paper apps.

If the application goes through with no problems, it shouldn't take more than 45 days. The good thing is you can retroactively bill claims back to the effective date. Keep an eye out for any letters from Medicare requesting additional information as they are time sensitive.
