How would you code when a pt comes in only find out the results of an STD screening?
 
If the results are positive then you use the dx code for the STD, if the results are negative the you code for why the patient is there such as counseling for high risk behavior.
 
I would code office visit w/results of STD and if not positive, then choose a dx code that fits with documentation. Hope this helps
