The following is from the cath report-
Stent placement of proximal and mid right coronary artery, and balloon angioplasty of the posterior descending artery

Would this be coded as 92928-RC & 92929-RC & 92920-RC?

any assistance would be greatly appreciated....
 
Hi...92928-RC would be for the proximal and mid, as the mid is not a branch of the RCA, but the posterior descending is a branch and therefore, the balloon angioplasty code would be 92921-RC (the additional vessel code). I am in PA, and 92921 does not have RVU's assigned, so we don't get paid for the additonal vessel code. We bill it anyway for reporting purposes. Hope this helps Sandy
