When a physician performs an SRS procedure (CPT 61796-61800) do they have to be present at the time the treatment is provided in order to bill the services appropriately?

Yes, the neurosurgeon must be present so that he or she is available to make changes in the treatment plan if necessary prior to delivery of the treatment. They do not have to be present for additional sessions past the first.
