Hello, one of my SNF providers is billing 99310 with ICD T14.91XA: Suicidal behavior with attempted self-injury. However, per the notes the patient was not able to harm themselves in anyway physically. Can anyone help me on how this would/should be coded correctly (ICD10 )? I am not sure that this code can be used as a primary and only code for Medicare. Thank you.
 
Codify just states that code as Suicide Attempt, Initial Encounter, so I'm not convinced that there would be any billing issue with this code. What did the doctor's assessment say, specifically?
