Recommendations needed for what ICD-10 code/codes to use for a patient seen for eyes super glued shut? I am baffled on this one! Nothing seems to fit this scenario

Thanks,
Jolene

I walked this through the encoder, and there's no actual code for this scenario, which is interesting, because I am sure it has happened more than once.

There's no 'other specified' injury of eyelid (since 'injury' is my best guess with regards to this scenario) , and "injury of eyelid" falls under unspecified injury of face/head, S09.93XA. The S05 section is specific to eye/orbit, not lid.

I know it has happened before. Decades ago, I audited an emergency room chart in which some did this for one eye only.

Hazards of "lying in bed, holding glue above head, and trying to open the tube."
