We are the billing company wherein we receive superbills from the provider's office. I wanted to understand who circles the code in superbill, is it provider himself or Physician assistant. Would the provider or PA know coding guidelines especially picking E&M level? Also, would there be substantiating EHR for all the superbills or its just the superbill? We all know that manual superbill will go away very soon but still wanted to understand this crucial piece.
From the information, I got, superbill wouldnt have any substantiating EHR which is actually not the correct process as per CMS.
