Are we able to bill (with a modifier) for our NP that is supervising PICC line placements at the hospital? She has been training other staff so I didn't know if this was billable or not? We are a Rural Health Clinic.
 
In most cases I don't believe it's possible to bill provider supervision of services performed in a hospital. It's my understanding that it's the hospital's responsibility to supervise and/or train its own employees. If your providers are performing this service for the hospital, then they should arrange compensation from the hospital as it should be the facility's obligation to cover those costs.
