Would an supraumblical hernia be considered "epigastric" or still code "umbilical"?
Dx directs to 552.29...

I come up with ventral hernia 553.29.

552.29 is with obstruction. I wouldn't use that unless the hernia is specifically stating obstruction.

Oh sorry, in my case there was an obstruction. Would you use CPT 49572 Epigastric hernia rather than umbilical CPT?
