need help in coding multiple operative procedures - 78 year old patient had the following surgical findings: pelvic abscess made up of small bowel into the retrouterine position. Within the abscess is perforated appendicitis with a perforation at the base of the appendix at the cecal wall - operative procedures include exploratory laparatomy with drainage of pelvic abscess,appendectomy and relief of small bowel obstruction. How could this be coded? Thanks!

I agree - please post op note. However, from the sounds of it, I'm going with 44960 appendectomy for ruptured appendix with abscess.
