If the length of the laceratin on the finger is not documented is it apropraite to code the smallest laceration repair on the finger; 12001?

Go back to provider
If the length is not documented, I go back to the provider and let him/her know that this information is required in order to code. I then code AFTER the document has be edited/addended to include the length.
