Does anyone know if there is a better code to use for tarsal tunnel injections besides 28899?
 
There is not. However, some of the Medicare Contractors specify that they want it billed as 64450. If billing Medicare, please read over your LCD carefully.

28899 is NO longer used for TT inj.
Please find the updated LCD (CMS) for Injections - Tendon, Ligament, Ganglion Cyst, Tunnel Syndromes and Morton's Neuroma;

Instructions to use CPT code 28899 was removed
Added a statement instructing providers to use CPT Code 64450 for Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome therapy.
