Hello everyone. I have a friend who does tatoos for women who have gone thru breast cancer and have lost thier breasts. She tatoos the nipples. Some insurances cover this procedure for women who have had breast cancer. My question is, can she work with an MD and bill under his/her credentials? Does anyone have experience with this code? 11921
Her NPI lists her as specialist/other.
Thanks!
Chris

You cannot bill under the physician NPI unless she is an employee with direct supervision, if she has an NPI number she must bill using her own number
