My question is regarding an EPS for placement of an LV lead for resynchronization therapy to restore his systolic function. He had a RV & RA recording, but the physician was unable to pass the ostium of the coronary sinus for the recording. The physician then advanced an ICE catheter for an IVUS of the coronary sinus which showed no accessible path.The procedure was then terminated. The patient currently has a duel chamber pacer. What codes would be approiate for coding this procedure? 93621-52,93662; or 93620,93621-52,93662? We inicially coded 93602-93603-93662, but received an edit. We are coding facility charges.
93662 is an addon code & can be billed w/93620 which would need a modifier-52,w/93621. There is an article from CPT Assistant, October 2008 Page 10,11; recommending code 93620-52 w/93621 + 93662.
