This is sort of a cross post from the General Surgery forum. I am near desperate for help with the teaching physician guidelines, how they apply to surgical residents and what makes a billable service.
I have a surgeon who scrubbed in and oversaw a surgery but was never "hands on". His resident performed the entire procedure and the op report notes that the doctor was scrubbed and available through the whole procedure.
Is this adequate documentation to support billing with a GC modifier?
