if my doctor saw a patient at the hospital and on the note it has a teaching physician attestation on it and that resident isn't employed by us..how do we bill this consult? I know if they were employed by us we would use the modifier.

Are you saying that when your physician saw the patient at the hospital for the consultation he did so as a "teaching physician" for the resident?
