Pt has surgery

pre tee read by dr x cardiologist

post tee read by dr y cardiothoracic that performed surgery

can both be coded?

Checked with another coder on this one.....Is this strickly for the read only? Who performed the actual TEE both times? I would think if the surgeon performed and read the 2nd one that you could use a modifier 77 possibly. If done by the surgeon both times, possibly the 76 for the second one would be appropriate. The 26 would be used for the read only portion, I would think. Any other input from anyone???
