I work for a rheumatology office and one of our doctors did a hospital consult (first time with the patient) via telemed. I have never run across this and I am at a loss as to how I would bill this. If it was a normal run-of-the mill consult I would use 99223, 99222 or 99221. Can anyone give me guidance on this? (I'm in Virginia if that helps and the patient has United Healthcare Medicare Advantage). Thanks!
