Does anyone use the codes 99441-99443 and/or 98966-98968? My practice Manager wants to use them but we want to know if they are being covered by insurance companies and also with the restrictions on them (not related to a visit in the previous 7 days and not resulting in a visit within the next 24hrs) if they are worth the effort?

Any and all imput welcome. Thanks,

Jody, one of our practices is working on this very same issue and "getting set up" with one of our private commercial carriers. Not sure yet how it will pan out. Getting answers to these type of questions is not as simple as it seems sometimes.

We've never gotten paid with one of those codes, but I had a teacher at a workshop I attended tell me to use them anyway. Apparently, it's one of those situations where the more the codes get used the more likely they will eventually get paid. Or it may just be wishful thinking :)
