Hello

if patient is not present and provider speaks to another provider, of different specialty and consist of medical decision making, can a provider bill for that service? what would we bill, new telemed code?
 
Hi there, you would not report an E/M telemedicine code.

For the first provider, you might be able to count the conversation toward the data portion of a recent E/M visit, or separately report interprofessional consult request code 99452. If you're asking about the second provider you might be able to report one of the interprofessional consult codes. But it will depend on the what they did and when they did it.
