My physician placed a temp hemodialysis catheter.Looking for correct code.
Left groin was was cleaned and draped. An introducer needle was placed after 2 tries
in the left femoral vein. There was good blood return and wire was introduced into left femoral vein. A small incision was made over top of the wire in his skin and the vein was dilated X2 and a 11 1/2 french 19 cm temporary dialysis catheter was placed with good blood return. The catheter was flushed with saline and loaded with heparin.
I reviewed codes 36556, 36558-36561 with the physician all of which he stated were not correct. Any assistance would be appreciated. THANK YOU
