Documentation!

I need help. If a patient is positive for tenderness in the supraspinatus, when it comes to coding, is a 729.1 or a 840.6?

What language does the provider use? To justify 840.6 wording of : avulsion, hemarthrosis, laceration, rupture, spain, strain, or tear would need to be included in the documentation.

If positive for tenderness is all you have to go on....I would go with 729.1 for the Myalgia (pain in the muscle)

Hope this helps ;)
