I'm new to part a ancillary. I work inpatient billing for an exparte situation, and my biggest question is (there is deep conflict within my office on the correct answer, so I am bringing it to the specialist of AAPC :)) when a patient is sent out to consult off premise and they are PART A Ancillary... Who does the outside provider bill THE FACILITY or Medicare (?) and when there is a patient balance left who is responsible... (1 states the outside provider is to write off said balance and the other states we are responsible....)
I was under the knowledge that outside provider are to bill the Facility .........
If there is someone willing to indulge me further on the process I would welcome that immensely.... the basics of Medicare Part A and PART A Ancillary

Thank you for the responses
