I posted this in Billing...realized it belongs under this topic.

I had a question regarding a third party billing agency liability issue. A doctor at the hospital is sending charge tickets, indicating initial visits with patients, F/U and then discharge as well as ICD-9 codes. He claims his notes for the F/U he is having us bill are transcribed into the hospital system but we are not able to find them.
The manager is okay with us billing these services that Dr indicates on the face sheet and if any documentation is requested by an insurance we will forward these requests to the hospital to provide these notes. It feels very odd to me to do this. Any input would be appreciated.
