Regarding new code 37211 (arterial thrombolysis). What happens if the patient never leaves the OR suite post thrombolytic infusion? Treatment of the abnormality (angioplasty, atherectomy, stent placement) is performed shortly after successful thrombolysis in the suite. Patient sent to recover post procedure and discharged later the same day. Is 37211 a reportable procedure in this case?

If a true thrombolytic infusion was performed and then stopped you would code 37211. You cannot code the thrombolysis codes for injections of thrombolytic during a thrombectomy procedue, pulse spray, bolus injections. It would be unusual to have a true infusion of that short a time.
