I am trying to find an article that deals with time-based E/M with Medicare as they are now asking for start time, stop time, and total E/M time when basing E/M on counseling time.

I was in an inservice last Friday where the speaker said that Medicare (WPS for Nebraska) will no longer accept "over 50% of the time was spent in counseling the patient," now, I need to find some documentation, either with AAPC or on the Medicare website, that I can give to my docs.

Any suggestions?
