I'm looking for some advice :)
Procedures Performed: Total laparoscopic hysterectomy, bilateral salpingectomy, rectocele repair.
I'm in doubt because in the note was described in the first part of the operative report **The pt was found to have a mobile midline uterus with an IUD in place. IUD was removed with a ring forceps.
However, under the coding summary at the hospital, 58571 and 57260 were coded.
My question is, the iud removal (58301) would be part of the hysterectomy???
Thanks in advance!!!

Yes, that's right. You would not bill separately for removal of an IUD when you are removing the organ it is contained in.
